Shyamji Krishna Varma Memorial

This elegant memorial at Mandvi honours Shyamji Krishna Varma, the freedom fighter and scholar born in Mandvi who founded India House in London in 1905. The memorial is a faithful replica of India House, where revolutionaries like Savarkar once gathered.

The campus includes a museum narrating his life and the Indian Home Rule Society, and the urns containing his and his wife Bhanumati's ashes — brought home after decades — rest here with full honour. It is a moving, well-maintained stop on the Mandvi circuit.
