About White Rann
The White Rann is Kutch's most iconic landscape — a vast salt desert stretching to the horizon, formed where the sea retreats each year and leaves behind a brilliant white crust. At sunrise and sunset the salt flat takes on soft pink and gold hues, and on full-moon nights it famously glows like a sheet of silver.
The best time to visit is between November and February, when the weather is pleasant and the Rann Utsav cultural festival brings tents, folk music, handicraft bazaars and local cuisine to the edge of the desert. Pair your visit with Kala Dungar for the classic panoramic view over the salt flats.
