About Road to Heaven
The Road to Heaven is the nickname locals gave the causeway that runs across the sparkling white salt desert from Khavda to Dholavira. For roughly 30 kilometres the road cuts a straight line through the glistening Rann, with mirror-like salt crust on both sides — a dream for photographers.
Drive slowly, stop for photos at the marked points and time your trip for sunrise or sunset when the light turns the salt into gold. The road leads directly to the UNESCO site of Dholavira, making it the natural route for a full-day circuit.
