Nirona Rogan Art Village

Nirona is a small village with an extraordinary artistic legacy. It is one of the only places in the world where Rogan art — painting on cloth using half-oil, half-pigment made from castor seeds — is still practised. The Khatri family, National Award-winning artisans, keep this Mughal-era craft alive, and their Rogan piece hangs in the White House.

Beyond Rogan, the village is home to copper bell makers and lacquer wood crafters. Visitors can watch artisans at work, try a hand at the craft, and buy directly from the makers — a genuine slice of Kutch's living heritage.
