About 72 Jinalaya
72 Jinalaya, near Mandvi, is a remarkable Jain pilgrimage complex built in memory of Acharya Hemchandrasuri. Its 72 shrines are arranged in a graceful mandala, each carved from marble with detailed iconography of the Jain Tirthankaras.
The central 72-foot dome-topped shrine is visible from far away, and the peaceful marble courtyards are beautiful in morning light. Photography is permitted in the outer complex; visitors should dress modestly and maintain the temple's quiet decorum.
